Why Tanuki?
If you're wondering why we call ourselves ״Tanuki״ - Well, the tanuki is a very cute animal that is indigenous to Japan and looks like a mix of a chubby raccoon and a very cute dog (basically, all the coolest animals in one).
In Japanese folklore, the tanuki is considered playful, mischievous, full of surprises, and a master shapeshifter. He’s also considered a symbol of good luck! Just like the Tanuki, we love to mix unexpected ideas, shape-shift wild concepts into bold, eye-catching brands, and add a dash of fun, color, and motion to everything we create.
No raccoons were harmed in the making of this studio, but some ideas definitely went wild.
